WHAT ARE YOUR RATES TO SELL AT AUCTION?

Rates depend on the value and quantity of items that you are willing to consign by contract. For an estate, they can start at 10% for quality antiques and collectibles and up. Other items such as automobiles, farm equipment, rare antiques and real estate start at 2% and up.  All commissions are negotiable between the consigner and the auctioneer until we sign a binding contract. 

WHY DO YOU ONLY AUCTIONEER PART TIME?

I have a full time job that I love and also enjoy auctioneering. It allows me to take on extra work as needed to help others settle estates or to liquidate or downsize at a reasonable cost to the consignee. Just because I am part time, it does not mean that you get part time results. 

MATT, WHERE IS YOUR AUCTION HOUSE OR BUSINESS?

I rent community buildings in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Not having an auction house allows me to have much lower commissions than any other competitors in the area. My overhead is very low so I am able to pass off better rates to you!

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO SELL AT AUCTION?

First, call a few auctioneers. Sure, there are plenty in the area. I can assure you that I can beat any competitor’s rates and will use the same methods of advertising that they use. I will come look at the items that you own and then provide a fair assessment of the overall value of your items at no cost to you. If you decide to use me as your auctioneer, consignment contracts with terms and rates will be drawn up based on the auctioneer and consigner (you). Upon auction completion, you will receive a full listing of the items sold and the price it sold for. Then, you will be paid for all of your items that you consigned minus the agreed upon commission per contract.
